Today was another good day... and another day closer to Beth coming home.
After work and picking up the kids, we are getting into the car and I was buckling Madison in and she told me I needed to promise her we are going to the pool tonight! When I told her we would not be going she tried to trick me into going by asking me again and this time not letting me respond. Needless to say we did not go to the pool, my 4 year old daughter did not win this round. It makes me worry for the future... the force is strong in that one.
We did come home and the kids got out their bikes and went for a ride for awhile. It was so warm outside though that we only "played" for about 30 minutes. Once all the bikes were put away and a large amount of water was consumed by all the kids went and turned on Netflix and watched a movie while I made dinner. We watched Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2. Mason was pulled into the movie, even though he has seen it 3 time before this makes 4. He made sure to tell me about all the other times. Madison was not vested in the movie so she asked to go take her shower. She started her shower by singing "We will rock you" over and over again. Yesterdays video hit a cord with her. About 5 minutes into the shower I was checking on her and realized she turned the water to complete cold. I have no clue how long it had been like that but it did not faze her. I asked her why she was taking a cold shower and she just smiled, laughed and said "because". About 5 minutes later I asked her if she was ready to get out and go watch the movie. She then informed me that "Girls take long showers, and I am a girl. DUH!" Madison has grown up in a matter of days. Beth better come back quick, I need reinforcements.
After the movie was over and Mason took his shower, we all sat on the couch and watch Survivor man. Mason looked over at the clock, stretched and informed Madison and I that it is past his bed time and that he should get to bed. He reached over paused the tv and told Madison that she needs to go get in bed. (He is doing all the work for me.)
As I am tucking them into bed, I am about to walk out the door and Mason yells, "Hey dad, don't watch the Walking Dead". He rolls over and closes his eyes. I just walked out laughing.
I never know what they are going to say. It makes every day an adventure!
