So at the beginning of the last blog I told the readers that I would not be writing today due to Beth coming home. I usually wrote the blog at 10 or later in the evening, which would normally be around my bed time but with Beth being 8 hours in the future, midnight in Mul-Vegas is morning time in Uganda. So I spent pretty much spent the evenings staying up late watching Carson waiting on the chance that Beth would get to text/ "talk".
As I am writing this we should be watching Beth walk down ramp at Eisenhower Airport (Does anyone else have a hard time calling it that?) That is what SHOULD be happening. Instead it is storming in Wichita AND Dallas, and the flight is delayed 2 hours. With two kids under 6, who have been waiting all day to see their mom, it is making it hard for me to keep answering every 3 minutes "DAAAD, when are we leaving?".
We did just get to talk to Mom a few minutes ago, and after we got off the phone we said a prayer. Madison went first and started it off with "Jesus, you are my hero. Thank you for my mom. Thank you for rain. Thank you for airplanes. And thank you for all the people ever born. Bring my mom back to us." I asked why she said Jesus was her hero... "Because church! Jesus, Church, Airplanes!" I can not argue with that logic. Mason on the other hand was alittle more direct "God, please bring my mommy home, I miss her. Hurry and get her home so I can eat dinner, I am hungry. Oh and God you are my hero, so bring my mommy home." (for the record they have both been snacking all day. Neither one of them is starving)
A few minutes ago the kids asked when we would leave to go to the airport, and while I was typing the part above Mason blurts out... "Dad, the clock is broke. The hands are not moving." I told him that a clock does not look like it is moving when you watch it. It is like watching paint dry. "Dad, I don't want to paint the clock, I want it to tell the time. Plus we don't have any paint!" (silence for a minute) "Dad when mom gets home we can paint my room". It was a logical progression.
I am going to sign off now, it looks to be delayed again. And I don't want to type through the tears anymore.
Final thought: Madison just started singing, "Let's Go Fly a Kite!" and Mason told her she can't because it is raining and storming and the thunder could hit her. The wheels just started turning and I expected her to start singing "Anything you can do I can do better!"
